Strength to Each Other

20191002_165221

In times of crises our eyes search through our masks,

for safety, for strength

with our hearts longing to feel the surge

of our common humanity

to no longer feel alone,

so we write,

we draw

and paint,

and photograph,

to encourage ourselves

and to give strength

to each other.

Because that’s who we are,

it’s what makes us

human.

A Vision of Hope and Unity

20181017_151012

We each need to feel loved and accepted don’t we? Especially in this time, in this world in which we live,

we need to respond in the opposite spirit of hate.

White Nationalists create fear of the other and hateful rhetoric, even in these United States.

Let us stand together offering acceptance of people,

even those different than ourselves, with a vision of hope and unity.

I’m standing with immigrants, and all victims of violence, in our world.

Amen.

In the Year 2154

If we are still alive, will it be any better? or will the earth groan under the weight

of our hostility? When the soil is depleted, our food will come from the sea,

where millions will seek to be washed of their anger, and to return

with a sense of the beginning – to return to being human

once again. Perhaps it is not too late

to start over. At least

we hope and pray so.
