Somewhere in the Wind

20180930_123817

Even in the cold grey dawn, poets will often search

the shoreline, looking for a glimpse of wordflow, in the silence listening

releasing any bitterness to receive it as a soft rain begins washing their spirits,

stunned here and there, at the beauty of a simple phrase……or a line.

And somewhere in the wind…..there’s a story.

My Second Biggest Blogging Secret

20180930_123716

Well, if you didn’t see my biggest blogging secret, it wasn’t really a secret, but it was to invest in other bloggers!

Spend time at other sites that interest you. So, now for my second biggest secret! Well it’s not really a secret either!

I try to bring hope and encouragement with much of my work. Let’s face it, we all need encouragement sometimes!

So I use terms such as “wordflow”, “spirit” etc. as a way of reflecting a positive life force,

and maybe even some healing. Poetry infused with nature can also bring healing.

I want my blog to be a positive place making the world a little more beautiful.

Art, and writing, and photography can do that! So now you know my 2 biggest blogging secrets.

I wish you all peace!

P.S. I think I’ve discovered a good writing plan/schedule. And sometimes you will see some adventurous fiction!

Art Blending

20190507_122047

I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the series, The Colors of the Night Sky!

This was an exciting, pushing back the boundaries time for me. It was something new, and I purposely blended different types of writing.

Did you know you can blend different genres? I think science fiction, fantasy, and romance, work well together.

I also blended some poetry with prose, especially in the first piece.

Colors infused was something I enjoyed trying also. Don’t you just love purple?

Now I have a decision to make. I’ve ended the series here, but there is so much missing……

due to squeezing in the story into the wordpress format. I need to go further with this story, stretching my wings, developing and filling in the rest of the story.

Fiction is not most popular type of post, and I think the least favorite with readers.

That showed up big time in my blog this past week but I expected it.

So….I will cut back a little here while I think about it.

I love writing so thank you for reading!

I have alot of new readers lately and many of you are international, so I just wanted to say, welcome to my blog!

I’m so glad you’re here! Unless you’re a bully. No bullies allowed!

I have more than 2,600 posts here, mostly I write poetry now. I do write some minifiction.

I love combining the ideas of nature, spirit, wholeness, healing, and how words can encourage us.

Hope is one of my biggest themes! Here is a small sample of the way I write:

Winter peace speaks to me,

within my spirit

in the silence

of the falling snow.

Welcome to Ancient Skies!

My Number One Blogging Secret

20191019_103718

Well it’s not really a secret, but my number 1 blogging tip is simply, invest in other people, other blogger’s posts.

By investing I mean reading the posts in our readers. I do often leave comments too, simply to encourage others, the way I’ve been encouraged over the years.

That’s really what blogging is about. We share our work with each other and encourage each other. I so wish I could follow more of you!

Those that I do follow, your work is amazing! Thank you for being who you are, and for being part of my blogging experience.

Thank you for reading!

Tea and Chocolate

20190914_122429

I grew quiet today drawing in, with some reading,

some poetry with a unique culture of love

while the snow outside is melting,

dripping from the pine trees,

and somehow I feel more

when I’m quiet,

a sense

some part of me remembering

the importance

of the inner life,

and of peace

while drinking black tea,

having a piece of chocolate

of the highest quality.

Are you taking care of yourself during this busy season?
