Acadia

The fog hovered low that evening as he stood silently in the sand listening to the waves. The rhythm washing every scar of the day

until he needed to zip up his jacket a little higher. Rocks made smoothe though. He relit his pipe, and as he walked home he watched the sand

surround his boots and give way again and again. He pulled his hat down further due the chill, and he thought of the lamps he left on in his cottage,

and quilts hanging over chairs, and a steaming, hot cup of tea.

Gathered

100_1721

His thoughts gathered in sea foam, along the coast of Maine,

eyes filled – with the jagged rocks of philosophy

cynicism was fortunately loosing its hold,

and grey matter began to change,

the never relenting surf

washed in the gold of sunlight,

forced a smile to appear

on his face.

It was time to return to the bungalow, he realized she must be

praying for him again, he could see her there

with spiritual eyes in the dining room.

The reality was always better than philosophy anyway,

as he walked, he truly wanted the time

she often craved, of books that sang,

and blankets on the couch

and of course,

two cups

of tea.

Gathered, and loving the time shared.

The View from Our Window

Maine and More 255

Tonight more than any other night,

let’s sit by the window,

so we can take in,

the water, the coastline.

I will always remember Maine,

hiding in our bungalow,

your face reflecting the sun.

Is roast beef ok?

Lost, staring at each other,

remembering the single rose,

on our first date,

I hand you another one.

Hearts melting,

I take your hand in mine,

and bring it to my face,

tears streaming,

flooded with love for you.

I guess the roast beef can wait,

as we close the curtains,

and pull down the shades,

our lips find each other.

Happy Anniversary sweetheart,

you know I love you,

tears and kisses blending,

My Love.

Note: This is about an anniversary celebration from years past. It’s not our anniversary today, but sometimes I do look back on this.

Blessings to everyone and peace!
