Moonlight on the Beach

136

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you,

more beautiful,

than with the moonlight,

dancing in your hair,

holding hands, walking,

we tell our deepest secrets,

without saying a word. Oneness.

When I see your eyelids close,

I know you are praying,

or at least breathing in,

the divinity of the moment.

Our energy, our love,

flowing, tells us both,

we can let go,

there is no need to worry.

the security of waves,

and the assurance,

of the endless.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen you,

more beautiful,

than with the moonlight,

dancing in your hair.

The Earth

Mountains and Rivers 058

I remember when the earth was young,

she could breathe more easily,

and she did not carry the weight,

of so many sins.

She did not have to bare her shoulders,

to be loved,

and the people came from her heart,

living in their bones, in their spirit,

free to love her, and to thank her,

in return.

They did not live far from her heart.

I don’t know what will become,

of her, of us,

I just hope we will be clean,

when we are turned into nothing,

but dust,

when we return,

to her heart.

Sand

Old Photos 101

When our souls are desolate,

our tongues thirst for words,

to lift up our own hearts,

as encouraging shade,

protecting,

from the scorching sun.

No person wandering,

can be truly alone,

as the desert knows how,

to guide us, to lead us,

in our seeking,

an occasional oasis,

of thoughts, a word,

from a friend, to strengthen,

then we are on our way,

more hopeful, but looking,

for the place,

that means more to us.

The peace of wholeness,

as the clouds form,

we hesitate, but they build,

until,

promises delivered,

the rain comes,

and our hearts become more,

than just sand.

They are a palm tree,

refreshed,

by streams of water,

offering shade,

to others.

When the Love Flows

Mountains and Rivers 389

When the love flows,

I am a good father,

understanding the reasons,

for being planted,

and I have the strength,

to look beyond the suffering.

When the love flows,

the universe becomes smaller,

and I can see my brothers and sisters,

bleeding with me,

but by joining hands,

we can grow anyway.

When the love flows,

My Love, the one you gave me,

is more important than I am,

shining like the sun,

our supernovas colliding,

into the joy of one.

May Your love always,

and forever flow,

so that I can be,

the man You created.

Let it flow. Amen.

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers!

The Red

Mountains and Rivers 132

I will never forget,

the red bursting,

calling me,

 to live with her,

to look deep inside,

and to forsake all others,

including the yellow,

to know,

there really is a peace,

from above,

a love,

that lasts forever,

that colors live,

in the universe.

I will always be grateful,

for the red.

Up Here

Mountains and Rivers 266

Up here, I know You are real,

there are no excuses,

Do You always see this far?

yes of course, I forgot,

I understand the choirs now,

the royalty,

there is a mist, but I think I see Nepal,

I’ve never seen it before….

have mercy,

I can never understand,

the suffering!

Can you send some more angels?

They need……God they need help….

and that young man,

to the right, see him? He’s in Detroit,

he needs…….,

and the young woman in New York,

considering suicide…..get the gun away from her!

Oh, thank God…….

there are so many.

No wonder we only see in a fog,

and You see clearly.

While, I’m here,

I’d like to pray some more.

Is that Your hand,

on my shoulder?

In the Deep Woods

Mountains and Rivers 386

In the deep woods, there is no doubt,

no worry,

we are one with the earth,

and He is there,

leaves surrounding, embracing,

teaching us to be calm.

A deer peeking through the trees,

says He is watching,

as the hawk flies over,

spreading her wings of assurance.

Rocks listening to our prayers,

drawing us to the water,

where we can see time,

and our music playing.

Depth,

soul going down into the roots,

and reaching up to the sky,

both together,

receiving healing,

knowing,

and grasping ahold of,

His strength.

Blessings to everyone, and peace!

I Remember a Time

Joesph Two Bulls, Dakota Nation 1900
Joesph Two Bulls, Dakota Nation 1900

I remember a time,

when men and women were valued,

called each other human beings,

within the greater splendor,

of creation.

Collecting plants, and hunting,

for food, always embracing,

a community,

and always,

connected to the earth,

attached to the sky,

drinking in the clean,

clear water from heaven.

I still love their names,

Arapaho, Shoshone, Cheyenne,

Lakota, Crow, and many others,

alive today, dancing,

and loving the earth.

Maybe they are here to remind us,

to do the same,

to call each other human beings.

I hope it’s not too late.

I hope.

In the Quiet of the Heart

Mountains and Rivers 150

In the quiet of the heart,

there is a stream flowing, making calm,

the spirit breathing,

longing,

for the sun, for the water.

Cascading over reason,

infusing,

the mind with power,

to reflect and to know,

who we are,

and the One who made us.

Who never left us,

but only seeks our good.

The love never ending,

flowing beyond ourselves,

down deep,

into a pool of life,

in the quiet of the heart.

Blessings to everyone and peace!

“If you love nature, you will love people.”

The Poetry of Gibran – Work

cambodians

Then the ploughman said, Speak to us of Work,

And he answered, saying:

You work that you may keep pace with the earth, and the soul of the earth,

For to be idle is to become a stranger unto the seasons, and to step out of life’s procession, that marches in majesty and proud submission towards the infinite.

When you work you are a flute through whose heart the whispering of the hours turns to music.

Which of you would be a reed, dumb and silent, when all else sings together in unison?

Always you have been told that work is a curse and a labour of misfortune.

But I say to you that when you work you fulfill a part of earth’s furthest dream, assigned to you when that dream was born,

And in keeping yourself with labour you are in truth loving life,

And to love life through labour is to be intimate with life’s inmost secret.

From the Prophet by Kahlil Gibran pp. 25-26.
