Heroes of Compassion

mother teresa looking

Is it possible to miss people,

you’ve never met?

people who stand tall in your mind,

people who mean something,

to all of us,

warriors on the battlefield,

like Gandhi,

like Mother Teresa,

strong, and gentle at the same time,

inspiring,gandhi

leading us with their words,

from so long ago,

their example shining like the sun,

encouraging us to be human,

to care,

and to make a difference,

putting faith into action,

faith in humanity,

that just one of us,

can do great things.

What can I do today?

How can I make a difference?

Sometimes it’s just a matter,

of our hands and feet,

being led by our heart.

Who is your hero?

love and life

Note: There are ordinary heroes all over the world, but these are two famous ones that I greatly admire.

Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Nepal. If you don’t pray think some positive thoughts.

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

Lightning

lightning from google

It’s hard to tell,

when lightning strikes,

Is it from heaven?

or from man?

like a generator.

I’ve seen so many,

on fire for God,

serve an empty cup,

to the people,

or they go away,

 hungry,

or suspicious of others,

believing only they are right.

Opinions do matter,judge

but I’m not The Judge.

If I get struck by lightning,

please,

please God,

let it be the fire,

of Your love,

let me be,

filled,

with compassion.

Then I will know,

it is,

from heaven.

Amen.

Living by Giving

Mother-Teresa-Judge-Quotes

Poetry in the spirit of the Christmas Season

Her light is still shining on me,

a light of self-sacrifice,

living by giving,

herself – away to others,

and living by loving –

everyone, regardless of creed.

Hands reaching, heart reaching,

I don’t have her calling,

but I’m inspired by her example,

help me God to love,

not to preach sermons,

but to give to others,

to do, and to help,

and lay myself,

down on the altar,

of self-sacrifice,

by giving.

Note: It’s true that just one life can make a difference. She left her homeland when she was only 18.

Blessings of peace to you this season!

People I Miss

People I Miss

Gandhi spent time in South Africa,

and said no

to Christianity,

no wonder,

the inner strength of a giant,

peacefully standing up.

Chief Joseph had the wisdom

of ten men, and a gentle spirit,

hated fighting but fought,

to save his people, then

he stopped fighting, to save his people,

from annihilation.

Mother Teresa gave her life

away to the poor,

living among the dying,

the streets filled with compassion

when she walked by,

her wrinkled hand reaching everyone.

I never met them,

yet I miss them.

Strength and compassion,

both,

at the same time.
