A Day in the Life

20170531_193957

Well, it’s just about time for a turkey sandwich, with mayo and a slice of American cheese, on whole wheat.

(Yes, I know American is not good for me!) Sometimes I use a mild Cheddar or even Colby, but straight Colby

not Colby Jack. I wish I could say I put lettuce and tomatoes on it, but to be honest, that rarely happens.

For breakfast I start with English Breakfast Tea, and a small amount of very, very dark chocolate. High octane dark

is very high in nutrients and low in sugar. Then for the meal it’s egg whites with cheese! I also place a lot of pepper,

oregano and other spices in them. I didn’t really receive any inspiration for a poem today,

I think it’s because I was still wrapped up in the Piers Morgan interview on the news channel.

I do recommend it. He basically said the President needs to stop politicizing and electioneering the pandemic.

This is not about the election! This is about saving lives, and taking care of the American people. The focus is too much on him! Ok enough said.

Now back to my turkey sandwich. Don’t tell my wife, but I’m also having some Utz brand potato chips. Love em!

Later, it’s time to excercise.

I wish you peace and good health.

My 3rd Biggest Blogging Secret

100_1487

Life is an adventure! And one of the best ways to express the love and beauty of this adventure, is through photographs.

I almost always use my own photographs and this is another blogging secret of mine. I love photography!

I have a great number of photos and it saves me a HUGE amount of time, to plant one into a post rather than searching

the internet. I use to search for photos and it took me forever to find the right one! So no more.

And sometimes I’ll write a poem, and already be thinking about the photograph to plug in.

If you missed my first 2 blogging secrets, the first was to invest in other bloggers and their sites.

It takes work but it’s well worth it! And #2 was to be hopeful and encouraging!

By the way I need a new camera, so if you have any suggestions, let me know.

Have a great time blogging!

Hope Keeps You Alive

I don’t even know how to say this. This is not a joke, it’s not a poem, it’s not a piece of fiction……my wife has cancer again.

This is the 3rd time now, and the mass inside her chest is even bigger than the last time.

To be honest it’s devastating. We are both devastated, and yet……a nurse recently told us,

“Hope keeps you alive.” And that’s so true….we have seen it many times.

I ask for your positive thoughts and prayers, for the one I love.

P.S. I will post some older work for awhile. It will help me to focus and remain active. If you leave messages I will eventually see them.

Yes, we will be taking good care of each other.

Peace.

Weekender

20180707_164614

Hello! Some of my blogging friends have tried something with their blogs, that I’ve decided to try as well.

Many now blog on the weekends with maybe a stop by during midweek. It was a tough decision but I will be trying the same.

I really need more time for writing, and have so many projects! For too long I have neglected putting some books together, for love poetry, nature poetry, spirit poems, and my novel I so much want to work on!

The downside to not being here as much, is I will not get to read as many of your wonderful posts! You are all wonderful artists, writers, and people!

When I took a break recently, I realized I needed more time like that. I will still be around, just at a reduced level.

I make no money from writing, but it would be so cool if I did!

I will still share the poetry I’ve been known for, and the short pieces of fiction.

Thank you for your understanding! Leave a message here if you’re looking for my email address. 😎

I wish you peace.

A New Blog!

100_1047

I’m very excited to announce a blog I just created called, The Mystical Forest. This is a fiction only site. As you may know I love writing fiction, and I wanted to stretch my wings a bit, so please check it out. For now the stories are from Ancient Skies, but I will post new ones once or twice a week very soon.

www.themysticalforest.wordpress.com

And by the way I gave myself a new name and new Gravatar, which is called Mystic Warrior. Why? Because I’m having fun and I thought it sounded cool. Let me know what you think!

I wish you peace!

By the way another blog is also about to be born!

For Men Over 50

100_0003

Yes, anyone can read this, but in particular it is for men my age, involved in a relationship.

Ok, so what – if she doesn’t look the same, as when you first met. You don’t either! Have you looked in the mirror lately??

You know she has carried you in her heart, for all these years, and you need to do the same. This is truly treasure come down from heaven, and you need to see it that way. There is nothing more valuable on this earth than the two of you!

And turn off the game once in a while, stop watching the politicians, and look at the one who is so beautiful! She has been waiting for you, so don’t be stupid. When you invest time into your relationship, she will love you for it.

And maybe even play some cards with her – like you did when you were younger – remember?? Just the two of you, with candlelight and some jazz music. Does the loser go first, or the winner? I just wish I could remember.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

New Adventures

100_1679

I’m having a great time writing! I really enjoy this site and I’m so proud of the journey I’ve been taking. Thank you for being a wonderful part of it!

And yet the participation here has been waning, for a variety of reasons, including the summer lull. So I feel a need to stretch my wings, to get involved, and to discover new venues.

Many bloggers have gone to social media, and some have closed down their wordpress sites entirely. So this old guy is going to learn what he can (not knowing a thing) and hang out with people in a new way.

And believe it or not, I’m actually going to start up more blogs! The first new one will be a fiction only site. I love writing fiction but it takes a lot of time, so I will only post there once or twice a week.

After that there will be a music blog! Wahoo!

I will keep you posted. I’ll still be here on Ancient Skies, but maybe a little less.

Peace!

(The guitars are very loud here so please be careful)

A Word for Wednesday – Healing

100_1054

We do not heal wounds through arguing, or trying to prove we are right. The word for today is “Healing”. As our world opens old wounds, and creates new ones at an alarming rate, the need for a people to be sources of healing has never been greater.

There are many different types of healing, and of course many different types of wounds. But may the One who made us, who knows all that we go through, keep us far from hate, and teach us to love one another.

May each of us be the healing that someone else needs, and may we all be made whole again.

A Word for Wednesday

20160602_160647

The word for today is “honesty”. Of course we all know, we need to be honest, but there are different circumstances we face, where we need to be honest. For example if we get pulled over for speeding by the police, what do we say to the police officer? Do we pretend not to know how fast we were going?

But as artists and writers, we also need to be honest within our art. Do we know our gifting fully? What are our strengths, and where do we need to grow? For example I love to write poetry, but my poetry is different, it reflects, at least to some degree who I am. I have a certain style or maybe more than one. However if I only compare myself to others – they (or you!) write much better than I do! Through honesty I get inspired by reading other writers, and I can learn from you.

And our honesty must always be compassionate. Don’t be too hard on others, and especially not on yourself!

So be honest with yourself and your art! And have a great time creating!
