Modern Love

As they stood in line waiting to get in, each person stood 6 feet apart, looking at their phones, or their grocery list.

He heard a noise behind him, and a young woman was bending over, picking up her keys. When she stood up, he wanted to shout from the rooftops, “You look amazing!”

but instead he went for softer touch with, “I love your mask!” It worked. Her eyes smiled as she relaxed. And it was a beautiful mask, white with swirls of green,

black, and just a hint of blue. It was like a work of art really. He didn’t know it, but she had been staring at him, and that’s why she had dropped her keys.

There was something about a guy’s shoulder muscles that always threw her for a loop. They started talking about cooking and food.

She loved the fact that he liked Thai food. They started letting other people go around them and they exchanged names and phone numbers.

As they parted he had forgotten what he needed to shop for and she headed to the nearest restroom so she could take off her mask and breathe again! She also splashed some cold water on her face.

Several days later they were zooming and started really getting to know each other. She was thinking, “Finally a guy who cares about more than just my body….”

And he was thinking, She’s so gorgeous!” And they both looked forward to that day, when they could touch……and actually hold each other.

Safe in Each Other’s Arms

20190507_121200

Where did we begin My Love? You were always my blue sky, drawing me into your essence,

and I became your rock, the earth under your feet, ruddy in appearance,

but we both got so lost in each other….. and found at the same time…..

I’m not sure how we happened, where it all began…..but I do know My Love, you will always carry my heart,

and we are safe

in each other’s arms.

A Love Story

20190507_122109

She never trusted in the dark side so she took my hand instead,

I wasn’t exactly a knight, but she saw something within me she could believe in,

and she wasn’t exactly all flowers, but her heart carried a priestess within, filled with light,

I recognized some of her scars, and I knew her beginning was a hail storm,

we both knew, and became synced when I tried to capture her flag….she took mine instead,

before I even knew what had happened,

and we never quite reached the height of eagles, we were more like hawks,

but at least we were not crows, all noise and no substance,

we live with grey feathers now, carrying courage, healing each other, and……very much in love.

The Enfolding

20180930_124305

His faith told him, actually his love told him too,

to stretch out his wings

and draw her in,

but she was already a warrior

so sensing his spirit she stretched out her wings

and they enfolded one another.

Holding on this way,

gave them both

courage and strength.

Note: As a couple we find that we are holding each other more now. My wife has started treatments for cancer again.

I only mention it because some of you ask about her. Right now the tough part….is emotional.

Wishing you peace.

On Our First Date

20190507_121840

She was so nervous, talking alot in the car,

at the Chinese place reaching

for my hand.

Later she said she knew

I was the one…….

but she had trouble with trusting.

I could see the gold

running through her veins,

and I knew whenever we did

eventually make love

I would need to protect

her heart, her fragile flower,

so I silently committed

my life to her.

We’ve been together ever since….

I still buy her flowers by the way,

and she really likes fresh breath…..

so I brush my teeth alot,

to this very day.

Two Stronger Than One

20190919_112715

It always amazes me how a battlefield can draw a couple closer,

fighting together,

two stronger than one.

We hold each other,

alot more now.

Thank you so much for all of your blessings, prayers, encouragement and well wishes! What a wonderful blessing. It has been a very difficult few days but I will respond to each of your messages.
