Rising – By the Yoshida Brothers

This is an unsual blend of traditional Asian music and modern. It’s been a while since I have featured this group, and I love the sound of the stringed instrument they play, called the Shamisen. I think it is Japanese and it seems to only have two strings. It reminds me a little of the banjo. These guys really know how to play, and they have hands like lightning! Have a great weekend!

Blessings to everyone, and peace!

Eight Days a Week

Have you ever been in love with someone so much, you wished there were more hours in a day? Or maybe, there could be more days in a week? That way you could have more time with the one you love. Here’s a song about it. The old film footage is neat too. I love the early Beatles’ songs. The weekend is coming! Hang in there you can make it!

Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

Meant to Live

from wallpaper-kid via google

Yes I know I sometimes act like a teenager! I still love loud guitars, and people dancing Bhangra. Although one person did tell me that 90 year olds can dance Bhangra. One of these days I’ll act my age, but not today!

I love this song and wanted to share it with you. I also like Switchfoot because they have a positive message. Just my style!

We were meant to live! Go for it!

Fly!

This is loud please be careful with your ears!

You Rock! With Loud Guitars!

I can’t believe it has been 6 months of blogging already! I want to thank everyone! Wow, thank you!  You all continue to be an incredible source of enouragement to me. Yes you! “You rock” means you are just awesome. “With loud guitars” means you are awesome in a big way! So you rock with loud guitars!

I look forward to more writing, photography, and art from your sites! Your work is amazing! By the way I know I use exclamation points too often – but they mean I am happy, or that I think your work, and/or comments are just wonderful!

Now, you might think how does a guy who loves, nature, peace, poetry, First Nations People, his wife (she’s at the top of the list!) love loud guitars? That’s an easy one. First I grew up in the culture of rock music, and some of it was really hard rock. So hearing the guitars makes me feel young again. Plus the groups I listen to now have a positive message. These groups would include Switchfoot,  and The Letter Black. I also like some of the old stuff like Boston.

If you watch the video below, please be careful with your ears. The guitars are really loud! Thank you again! I am celebrating!

The video is called Dark Horses, and the dictionary (merriam-webster) defines a dark horse – a person (such as a politician), animal, or thing that competes in a race or other contest and is not expected to win or : a person who has interesting qualities or abilities that most people do not know about. We may have been down but we’ve never been out! Keep going strong!

You rock!

Guitars and Drums

Driskill Handmade Guitar
Driskill Handmade Guitar

When I was young I used to bang away at air guitars,

the drums were speaking,

and the air was filled with metal.

When I was older I condemned it all,

I shunned the culture, like the Amish do,

realizing now I was wrong,

pride was condemning.

So, no more negative monsters,

tearing me down, speaking death,

but loud guitars and drums,

speaking with power a positive message,

Not religion just positive,

songs like, Up from the Ashes, Not Gonna Die,

speaking life, not death,

building me up, not tearing down,

rock on.
