In the Passage of Time

Oceans 771

In the passage of time,

our bodies have shifted,

not according to plan,

but hearts strong,

and our love grows deep.

So I wonder how we will be,

at 80 years old?

Will there be a spark?

or will we be, two embers,

fading, isolated from each other?

You looked at me and said,

“By His grace,

we will still have, the hearts of lions,

fighting the war of love,

a bonfire of light,

in spite of the aches and pains.”

You’re right My Love,

we ain’t done yet,

your smile says it all,

and I love,

the sparkle in your eyes!

On the Deck

Maine and More 300

As we ride the waves,

further off the coast,

the horizon of infinity,

seems closer.

What is it about the ocean,

that makes us cry?

Your eyes filled with tears,

ready to launch,

as my heart sinks,

looking at your face,

I realize, I was wrong,

like I often am.

Tossed,

as the boat picks up speed,

I want to break my own heart,

can I reach out?

will you pull back?

I risk a kiss,

on your forehead,

as we hold on to the railing,

the words come out softly,

will you forgive me?

I’m sorry I was angry.

You hesitate,

and risk everything, accepting my embrace,

as the sky meets the ocean,

we are one again,

falling into each other’s arms,

healed,

through forgiveness.

The Red

Mountains and Rivers 132

I will never forget,

the red bursting,

calling me,

 to live with her,

to look deep inside,

and to forsake all others,

including the yellow,

to know,

there really is a peace,

from above,

a love,

that lasts forever,

that colors live,

in the universe.

I will always be grateful,

for the red.

The Underground Spring

Mountains and Rivers 401

My heart was the hardened earth,

a soul filled with rocks, dry sand,

but you saw something,

under the surface, and started digging,

you told me I had gold,

but I didn’t believe you,

until I trusted, until you showed me,

the water, flowing from your heart,

and I could sing.

My sand turned,

into healthy soil,

rocks made smooth,

receiving the water, and the sun,

born again,

green began to grow,

and I was alive,

and understanding,

the Creator.

Do you know how much that means?

Forever flourishing,

from the underground spring,

and loving you, for always.

Blessings to everyone and peace!

“If you love nature, you will love people.”

The View from Our Window

Maine and More 255

Tonight more than any other night,

let’s sit by the window,

so we can take in,

the water, the coastline.

I will always remember Maine,

hiding in our bungalow,

your face reflecting the sun.

Is roast beef ok?

Lost, staring at each other,

remembering the single rose,

on our first date,

I hand you another one.

Hearts melting,

I take your hand in mine,

and bring it to my face,

tears streaming,

flooded with love for you.

I guess the roast beef can wait,

as we close the curtains,

and pull down the shades,

our lips find each other.

Happy Anniversary sweetheart,

you know I love you,

tears and kisses blending,

My Love.

Note: This is about an anniversary celebration from years past. It’s not our anniversary today, but sometimes I do look back on this.

Blessings to everyone and peace!

“If you love nature, you will love people.”

My Love

fire in love

This is a Love in Ten Sentences challenge given to me by Erika Kind. I had done one, a couple of months ago, and had a different focus. The word love has to be in each sentence, and there needs to be four words, in each of the ten lines. Some say you should write what you know – so due to the most beautiful woman on the planet (my wife) – here it goes!

Love is a relationship,

our relationship is love,

what an awesome love!

Her love is faithful,

my love is faithful.

Love strengthens us,

love removes our fears,

love increases our faith,

love never grows old.

She love’s my gray!

Since I nominated people last time, I only have two this time to nominate:

Dom at Black and Write

Esther at Hortus Closus

 Blessings to everyone and PEACE!

The Silence of Your Heart

loving embrace

You don’t have to say a word,

and I know that you love me,

in that quiet assurance,

the knowing – of your smile,

the silence of your love,

that we walk together. Holding,

embracing the union, the natural,

more than just seeking the clouds though,

it is in the giving of our hearts,

of ourselves, that silence of trusting,

completely,

that makes us truly one.

You don’t have to say a word,

and I know that you love me.

 Blessings to everyone and PEACE!
