As I walked out the door, March winds brought December with them
tossing tree branches in every direction, yet the evergreens
were holding steady, and the sun in the pine trees
spoke to me saying, “don’t be deceived, spring
has not gone away…”

In the cleansing of the forest I would often search for my answers,
now I simply breathe in the peace,
having found my way,
grateful for the sun
through the trees.

As the sunlight lay softly on the ferns
I rested quietly within,
closing my eyes,
breathing in the forest.

Our hearts will be strengthened in proportion to our rivers
as the sunlight confirms our calling that yes,
we can walk in the healing and give,
even more than what we need.

When I look up and search the heavens I don’t see a face
smiling or angry, but I do see the spirit of all
that was made, still strong in the branches
of the pine trees, and there is
being said, as the light
into my soul.
