I’m always amazed by your poetry, art, articles, reviews, and photography. You should all receive awards and make lots of money!

And I wish I could follow each one of you. Your support for my work is truly a blessing and humbling.

I’d like to make a recommendation for those that are beginning their blogging life here. If you want your blog to do well, please link it to social media. You’ll be glad you did!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Mountains and Rivers 417

From our house to yours, wishing you all the best this holiday season! Happy Thanksgiving, and may all of you, and the rest of the world, have peace.

We have a lot to be thankful for. Besides my wife and children, and being able to write, I am thankful for so many things, including some people I don’t even know. Is it possible to be thankful for people you’ve never met? Absolutely!

I’m thankful for:

President Obama

Pope Francis

Our Military Personnel

I really think our President is doing a wonderful job, during this terror crisis. I love the things he says, and he is taking the right kind of action. He was the first leader to call the President of France and offer our support. It is wonderful to see and listen to the dialogue taking place.

Going back even further I so appreciate his courage in changing some of our healthcare system. I know a family personally that have been helped by Obamacare. Our friend is self-employed, and they live on a farm. Now his health care is affordable, and attainable.

Pope Francis is a man filled with compassion. I love how he cares for others, and how he is reaching out. He is a bridge builder – between different groups of people. So cool! Will he change the policies of the Church? Probably not, but he has been hard at work at changing how many of us think, and what the role of the Church should be. Awesome! He is showing the world what being a Christian is.

We can never thank our military personnel enough. They sacrifice a great deal, including having long periods of separation from their families. May God watch over them and protect them. And may all terrorists, regardless of their affiliation, be caught and their plots stopped before they even happen.

Have a wonderful holiday!

Peace and blessings to everyone.

“If you love nature, you will love people.”

One Year Ago

Mountains and Rivers 396

I am celebrating one full year of blogging! Wahoo! A great big thank you to everyone!

Here is a poem:

It was one year ago,

I began seeing,

the value of art,

the value of people,

love unconditionally,

and the Creator living.

I knew some things,

but lacked the love,

still recovering from false doctrine,

you encouraged me,

from Hong Kong,

Tokyo and Korea,

from beautiful Wales,

Great Britain, Canada,

France, and Liechtenstein???

yes Liechtenstein,

Then too there was Oklahoma,

and yes Alabama,

I can never forget India,

Pakistan, and many others.

We encourage one another,

and for that,

I am forever grateful,

brothers and sisters,

from the bottom of my heart,

thank you,

for being on this journey with me.

From our house to yours, PEACE, and every good blessing!

A Tribute to Women

pink roses

Today, in many parts of the world, it is Mother’s Day. I’m not sure if it was invented to sell more greeting cards, but it is good and right, to recognize our mothers, to show appreciation for them, and to thank them. I’m thankful for my mother, and for my wife (My Love), for being the amazing, wonderful people they are. But many of us did not grow up in a paradise on earth, where Mom stayed home, and cooked all day, meeting everyone’s needs, and prepared a fantastic meal for Thanksgiving. In many cases that is far from reality.

In many cases family life can be a hell on earth, instead of paradise. Do you say “Happy Mother’s Day” to a woman who is married to an abusive husband, who feels trapped, unable to free herself? What about the woman unable to have children because of medical reasons? Mother’s Day can be very painful. And then there are women who experience the horrible pain of losing a child, meaning they have passed away. What about them? What do you say?

Many women living in poverty, know nothing of Mother’s Day, and no one ever says thank you. Instead, they are terrified of being abused – again. In many cases they are also terrified of not having enough food for their children to eat, and sometimes these two circumstances are tied together. I’m not saying we should do away with Mother’s Day, far from it, but let’s remember the women who have never had a Happy Mother’s Day.

To all women who are having a difficult time, facing unimaginable circumstances, thank you for your courage, your determination, your love and compassion! YOU ARE AMAZING! And God please help us to make this world a better place, where women can be free, and safe, where all women can have opportunities to reach their full potential. Help us, help them. Amen. There are superheroes all over our planet, and many of them are women.

Compassion should always result in action.

very inspiring blogger awardpremio dardos award

red ribbon award

I want to say thank you to two people that nominated me for 3 different awards! Wow! Randombytes at Randombytesfromlife nominated me for the Infinity Dreams Award, and Erika Kind nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award, as well as the Premio Dardos Award. I am deeply honored, thank you! I am so thankful to all who read my work. I have been blogging for less than a year, and I am still amazed that you want to read what I write. I have learned a lot, and I’m continually encouraged by your work! Thank you for being such wonderful writers, photographers, and artists!

Two of the awards wanted me to write 7 things about me that you do not know, so I will place 15 here (one extra). Here it goes!

I took linguistics and anthropology in college, and often think I should have been an anthropologist.

go cart 2I love go cart racing – meaning driving a go cart. I don’t compete though.

My favorite dog is the Labrador Retriever. But any big dog is good!

I think the most boring thing to watch is golf! I don’t see how people can do that, but playing golf is fun.

I started with a bow and arrow when I was very young.

I once took Tae Kwon Do (a martial art) and broke wooden boards (so cool!)

I love classical music, in particular Vivaldi, and J.S. Bach. For some reason I don’t care for Beethoven.

My favorite Christian rock band is The Letter Black. Check out their song – “Up From the Ashes”.labrador

I love blogging, and wish I had 5 more hours a day for it!  I am busy with family, work, learning about nature, and other cultures (exciting stuff!). So I post when I can. I don’t always see your work, but I love what you do, and visiting your sites! In my spare time, I am writing two books, and not only that, I’m planning on starting a publishing company. First though I need to learn how!

I don’t cuss or curse. Yeah I know, sounds weird! I don’t judge anyone, but I don’t practice it at all.

If I could live anywhere in the world, it would probably be Maine. Parts of it are really rugged, and yet there are some beautiful small towns.

I am currently reading the Book of Psalms.

In the future I hope to start another blog which will be more music, and commentary oriented.

I want to learn more languages, including French and Italian. For some reason, and I can’t explain it, but I believe I need to learn Italian.

My wife is my best friend in the whole world (but you probably already knew that)!

The toughest part about the awards is trying to nominate other people (Ok Lisa you can stop laughing now!)

You are all deserving of awards and recognition! You are awesome!

Three in particular come to mind though.

Lisa – Underground Energy – for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Trini – Love Notes from the Angels – Premio Dardos Award

Esther – Hortus Closus – The Infinity Dreams Award

I don’t think any of them accept awards, but if they change their minds, they are more than deserving! Happy blogging everyone! Be blessed today and every day!

 Blessings to everyone and PEACE!
