Riding Along the Edge

There are times, when we are filled with faith, that we ride along the edge

of revelation, preferring the jagged edges of our own mountains

rather than the comfort of frozen temples.

So we pick ourselves up, scraping off the mud,

embracing the lines of cliffs rising, realizing

it is dangerous to trust anyone

we can’t see.

In the Peace

100_5398

As each spirit hovers above the waters

there is an acceptance of being one,

a dawning, that He does not make mistakes

that each ripple in our lives brings us

closer, to the distant shore

and our confidence now

is in the peace.

The Deer and the Waterfall

Mountains and Rivers 399

When the deer return to the waterfall

it is a matter of trusting – that they will be

refreshed, that gentleness will win

the hearts of men, and that violence

will be defeated. That life will continue

along with the seasons,

that there will be the young

to grow and to learn,

under the protection of the sky.

Drinking in the promises

of another day, a new

beginning, knowing

how to trust.
