Positive Encouragement

I follow some amazing poets here on WordPress. If you’re following them too, then you know how wonderful they are. They boggle my mind with descriptive images and wordflow.

I’ve been keeping my work very simple lately, less on descriptive images and more on encouraging, hopeful phrases. Sometimes I sense a proclamation of hope and write it down. I see this as a change inwardly and publicly.

There are several reasons:

It’s been a tough couple of years for all of us. And I just feel the need for each of us to be lifted with some positivity.

It’s been a tough couple of years for our family, which I’ve already mentioned here.

To be honest right-wing extremism disturbs me a great deal and that affects my writing. I’m not much of a Joe Biden fan now but extremists on the right are the greatest threat to our country. I call them the AR-15 Culture. Anyway that’s a rant for another time.

Lastly, but not the least important is my health which includes chronic pain. It doesn’t get better, it gets worse over time. That’s the nature of it.

I don’t feel a need to retire right now, but when I do I will not disappear. I want this blog to always be here so I can post, and read your wonderful work.

So yeah, I’m keeping it simple, hopeful and encouraging. That’s my goal!

Peace. Thank you so much for reading!

  1. There will be a time when you step away here – and experience tells me that you’ll know when the time is right. One recommendation – have a final post. The closure will be good for the readers and for you. Meanwhile, continue staying positive and I wish you peace and strength with your battles.

  2. We all need encouragement these days for sure, dear Nico- The pandemic and the right-wing-extremists are only two (very horrible) reasons out of way too many. 😟

Therefore I really admire how you manage to cheer us all up despite your personal situation… Thank you for that! Really. 🌸

Take care and say “Hi” to your wife from me- VVN

  3. Your words truly are a blessing and encouragement as you want them to be. So, as long as you enjoy being here, you are bringing this light and encouragement for which I am so grateful. Whenever you don’t feel fine with it anymore, it is nobody else’s but your business to retire here. Just know, that you are appreciated, Nico!

    1. Erika your encouragement is a wonderful blessing! Thank you so much my friend. I do enjoy being here……tremendously. I saw a wordflow shift and realized why it was taking place. I wanted you all to know and that I am more limited now. Peace my friend and wonderful blessings. I can’t thank you enough.

      1. Thank you for everything you have been doing here, Nico. May you be blessed, dear friend. I wish this from the bottom heart.

    1. Thank you Pam! I’m still hanging in there! I have seen a wordflow shift and wanted share why. I seem more limited now. Then too we all need more encouragement! Peace my friend and wonderful blessings.

  4. Your words are soft, warm and tender, and they reach the soul with an irresistible glamour. I’m on the same page with you, the greatest killer of America’s dream is cultural extremism. People of colour need just as much respect as the rest of God’s creation; their lifestyles and cultural orientation ought to be treated with high regard. Along with it are all the other forms of extremism such as political and economic. May God help America live up to her expectations of being the defender of humanity rather than an element of division. I’m wishing you strength and good health, dear. You deserve to be here to glisten our faces with these imperative pieces. 🌺🌺

    1. Lamittan your comments are so beautiful and encouraging! And regarding respecting all people and their culture I agree completely! This is a big part of our problem today. You can’t have unity if you believe you are the only ones that are right or important, Thank you too for your blessings and well wishes. Peace to you and wonderful blessings. I’m grateful.

  5. If “simple” means heartfelt and honest and fewer, OK, more more words or the necessity to keep a dictionary on the desk does not more powerful make. Thank you for your words and for who you are.

    1. Maren thank you for your kind and encouraging words! Your comments are an important blessing. That is a good reminder for me. I know this with my mind but sometimes I am not aware of it much within my heart. Peace and wonderful blessings to you.

  6. I feel much the same way about the past few years of “life on earth as we know it” and yes, it’s been really tough on all of us. Not always the same way for everyone but tough just the same.

Writing has been my go-to release for quite a few years especially through the years of physical pain. My Lord never let me down so I couldn’t let Him down. He gave me the gift. The least I can do is share it even though I’m not as skilled as most poets I follow. On my most painful days are in the times I am able to write with words from deep within my soul. I was comforted by the words He gave me.

Yes, I know what physical pain is. Emotional pain as well. Then there’s the pain I feel when others hurt through their words of condemnation. You know, the ones who are “more saved” than us who say we are not healed because of our “”lack of faith”. But my Lord is my forever comfort and friend. HE is my hero and inspiration…just to live another day.

Simple is often all the reader needs as well as the writer. 🙂

    Bless you heaps.

    Chrissy

    1. Thank you Chrissy so much! I cannot thank you enough! Your comments are so encouraging and as you say “from the heart”. Your testimony is beautiful and a gentle reminder that God gives us gifts for a reason, and that is to use them, and to give to others. Thank you so much again. I’m sorry you’re dealing with any kind of pain. May He continue to give you the grace and strength you need. God bless you. Peace and wonderful blessings.

  7. I’m sorry about your chronic pain…I can relate. Simple is indeed powerful…and we all can use a cup running over with encouragement, hope, and a good laugh. Take care of yourself–May God bless you abundantly.

  10. A lovely statement of kindness and resilience, Nico. These are very troubling times and right wing extremism and violence is very concerning. I’m with you on that. Your positivity will go a long way to build connections and make the world a better place, one post at a time. Hugs.
