Summer’s Last Breath

20171028_150417

Heat still lingers in the poplar trees and maples,

summer’s last breath, refusing

to yield

and yet the cool air

begins slowly

enfolding

around us

claiming victory

once again.

  1. Amen! Here in southern Oklahoma we are finally experiencing the coming of Autumn. But as they say down here, “If you don’t like the weather, wait 20 minutes 😂” Excellent post and verse to breath in and enjoy Nicodemus.😊 Thank you for sharing ❤️

  2. It’s the opposite down here in the Southern hemisphere – as we hang on to the last bits of winter. I’m sad to lose it (I love winter, and dislike summer)… but I know we have to live through all the seasons.
