My Sunday Afternoon

100_1069

People don’t read the paper on Sunday anymore, do they? We I guess if it’s online. Today I’m taking it easy. After church, and lunch with the family, I’m spending some time reading.

Currently I’m reading Jan Karon’s book, Somewhere Safe with Somebody Good. I’ve had this book on my shelf for years and even started it once, but it’s been like rediscovering buried treasure! I think I’ve now read the whole Mitford series. I can’t wait to see what else I have on my shelf!

I’m also writing today. When I go back and read what I wrote months ago, I can’t believe how many changes are needed!

Tonight there’ll be some buttered popcorn, and a movie with my sweetheart. I’ve found the best movies are usually watched at home.

Before then, it’s always good to have a nap! Isn’t that what Sundays are made for?

I don’t have Facebook or Twitter so thanks for listening to me ramble.

So how are you spending your day?

  1. I try to read paper everyday and also don’t use facebook or twitter so I guess there are people like us 🙂
You’ve got some lovely movie plans, have fun 🙂

  2. I agree about the movies and naps too! And…it’s nice to know we are not the only ones who don’t use Facebook or Twitter. Hubby and try to keep in contact “the old fashioned way” with folks. Hope you and your family have a great start to the week. Blessings.

  3. Enjoyable listening to your ramblings and sounds like a perfect Sunday! How true that the habitual reading of papers has disappeared and I do miss these couple of hours my husband and I used to spend with papers spread across the breakfast table! We had an unusually busy day putting a new cabinet in my study … and somehow had to move so much else in the process that the house was turned upside down! No need for a gym at least and my husband actually enjoyed building the Ikea unit! A first! Wishing you a great week! 😀

    1. Thank you Annika! Its wonderful hearing about the two of you spending time together, even doing a project together. Sounds like you are also building memories! Peace and wonderful blessings to you both. 🙂

  4. I read the paper for the first time in a while. Felt good, even if none of the articles really gripped me. Then spent the evening celebrating a birthday with fiends I love but haven’t seen enough of. It was nice

  5. I love how you are spending your Sunday. This Sunday I went for a morning walk before breakfast. The weather has been beautiful and warm for the last few days. I really needed the fresh air, the warmth, and the light. After that (and breakfast of course) I turned towards my new project – developing my skin care products. Then visiting my mother and after that my children. Sundays are always a bit busy…But I am planning on making more time for reading and meditating again…

    1. Sounds wonderful! A walk in the fresh air is so good for us in many ways! Walking is one of my favorite things. I wish you well on your new project. And yes yoga and meditation will help to center us. Peace and wonderful blessings to you my friend!
