Colors Fill My Pages

20180707_164603

I’ve decided to take a break from blogging here. After yesterday’s disaster with posting “Our Spirit Wings.” I decided it needed to happen.

I think there was a technical issue with it. However, I also hadn’t changed my password in awhile, and when that happens, disaster strikes every time.

So I need to step back because there are just way too much shenanigans on my site at the moment.

The fact is though, I love your posts and blogs, so this was a tough decision to make. And as you know I love writing. Colors fill my pages.

I’ll also be writing more short stories and working on my novel. Maybe even a poetry book!

I have also been exercising more, and devoting more time to self improvement, including reading and even yoga. Or at least I call it yoga!

I’m spending more time now with my wife, and I will in the future as she goes through another series of treatments.

Now, this does not mean I’ll be disappearing completely. I’ll be more part time when I come back.

Photography, my other hobby, will play a more vital role.

I plan to eventually return more fully.

Thank you so much! I appreciate each of you!

Wishing you peace.

Our Spirit Wings

We will know the peace internal,

recognizing,

the colors of the wind

when we reach out,

with our spirit wings.

Note: I deeply apologize but I don’t think this loaded properly today. I’ve had this happen before, so I will try it again. Again I apologize.

Whispers of Lakota Song

100_1047

Perhaps it was the Lakota Song drifting over him, whispering in the middle of the night, when he was a child, a sound of singing,

blessing his dreams, from the tall grass…..that soul filling call, to touch the clouds, whispering in his ear, in his heart, the core of who he was.

He could always write the river, so maybe that’s why he was born loving the colors of our earth, with prayer feathers,

and wild horses running strong. It was poetry, after all.

Note: I was born in the desert, not far from the Rocky Mountains.

We were too far south though, to hear the Lakota Song.

Art Blending

I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the series, The Colors of the Night Sky!

This was an exciting, pushing back the boundaries time for me. It was something new, and I purposely blended different types of writing.

Did you know you can blend different genres? I think science fiction, fantasy, and romance, work well together.

I also blended some poetry with prose, especially in the first piece.

Colors infused was something I enjoyed trying also. Don’t you just love purple?

Now I have a decision to make. I’ve ended the series here, but there is so much missing……

due to squeezing in the story into the wordpress format. I need to go further with this story, stretching my wings, developing and filling in the rest of the story.

Fiction is not most popular type of post, and I think the least favorite with readers.

That showed up big time in my blog this past week but I expected it.

So….I will cut back a little here while I think about it.

I love writing so thank you for reading!

The Colors of the Night Sky – Part II

My Oceans 2

She had hoped and prayed that the purple would be strong. She could not hear them, but the people of her village were cheering having seen

the manifestation of colors. There was hope now that her mate would be found and the darkness that threatened them turned away, once and for all.

Having dunked her head 3 times the immersion was complete, as her tatoo on her chest glowed with her newly infused moonlight.

She made her way back to shore as the sun was beginning rise. She pushed her large frame through the waves without effort.

Her first vision of him began as she flipped back her hair. His hair was reddish brown…..muscular build…..was he a warrior?

He was inside something she could not understand……..

He angrily slammed another button increasing his internal air flow. “Warning!”, “Warning!”  sounded in the cabin.

He silenced the alarm and winced at the pain in his leg. A crash landing had not been expected……..

She had seen the whole thing as only a seer could, and whispered into his mind…..

“I see you, and I am coming for you!”

He heard her voice but could only see an amazing array of colors……

Only her head bobbed above the water now, after swimming beyond the waves and into the open sea.

She refused to feel the coldness of the water as she searched the night sky, kicking her legs and moving her arms in front her to stay afloat,

waiting for the colors to begin. Then the yellow began streaking across the starry sky,

then orange appeared and a deep rich red…..it wouldn’t be much longer, she thought.

The colors so permeated the sky that they filled the air around her and the sea….It was not a reflection,

but an infusion dispelling the darkness. She would wait a few seconds more before dunking her head…..

and there it was! A strong streak of purple, symbolizing her future love…..filling the sky, the sea,

and all of her being……into her hair trailing behind her. Would she find him in time?

Note: This is a story I’m working on. If you like I can share a little more. Yes I do write fiction too!

Creative Writing and Spice

20190507_121859

This is a creative writing blog, and as you probably know, I love writing poetry and fiction!

And I am a person of faith. I was a very conservative person years ago, but no longer.

No, it was not Donald Trump that changed my views, but his success confirmed what I already knew.

Anyway it’s been at least 5 years since I walked away from conservativism.

Now, I’ve said these things, to let you know that I do have boundaries, or a framework for my writing.

I don’t ever remember typing a curse word here. I don’t condemn anyone that does, but I’ve decided not to.

When it comes to love, it is God given and perfectly natural to write about. Can it go overboard? Absolutely!

Some people of faith though avoid love like the plague, but I think that’s a real shame.

I’m a writer, and this young couple we have just met in The Colors of the Night Sky will find each other, and yes there will be some spice.

I will not go overboard. My intention is to write a great story, that’s authentic.

I’m having a great time writing!

Thank you for reading!
